An interesting collection of postcards from Rome from around 1890 was collected. The photos were taken using photochromic technology.
This method was invented in the 1880s by the Swiss employee of the printing company Orell Gessner Füssli. Thanks to it, Rome and its monuments from the late nineteenth century were shown in color.
