Roman mosaic floor showing one of the mythological cyclops – Polyphemus. Polyphemus was the son of Poseidon (Neptune) and lived in Sicily. In the mosaic, we see the scene of Odysseus giving wine to the Cyclops.

Made of bronze, a sculpture of Emperor Hadrian. The object was built between 132 and 135 CE, so at the end of the ruler’s life.

Preserved remains of a Roman ship from the 1st century CE were found in the River Po in northwest Italy, near the towns of Verolengo, Chivasso and San Sebastiano.

Roman marble portrait of a young man. Object dated to the middle of the 1st century CE. The artifact is in Gliptotek Ny Carlsberg, in Copenhagen (Denmark).

Roman military diploma, which confirms the granting of Roman citizenship to the soldier Gaius Gemellus and his family. He served for 26 years in the sea fleet in Alexandria.

Roman sculpture depicting an unknown man with a beard. The object is dated to the middle of the 2nd century CE. The artifact is located in Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen (Denmark), and was found at the end of the 19th century near Rome.

Wreck of a Roman merchant ship from Comacchio, Northern Italy. The ship was about 20 meters long and 5 meters wide. The wreck was discovered in 1981 during the maintenance of the drainage canal. Researchers suggest that the ship was probably washed ashore by a storm at the mouth of the river.

Roman mosaic washed by the waters of the Euphrates in the ancient city of Zeugma (near Gaziantep in southern Turkey). The object is dated to the 1st century CE.
