Roman helmet of a secutor – a kind of gladiator who usually fought against a retiarius. The object was found in the Ludus Gladiatorius barracks in Pompeii.

Fragment of a Roman wall painting with a Latin inscription from the 3rd century CE. The object was found on the remains of an amphitheater in ancient Viminacium in eastern Serbia.

The marble slab of the sarcophagus in which the freedman named Titus Aelius Evangelius is buried. The man was selling wool during his lifetime; on a stone he is shown surrounded by tools and objects that he used on a daily basis.

An umbo that was attached to the shield of a Roman legionary who belonged to the legion VIII Augusta. The object dates back to the early 2nd century CE; it was found in the River Tyne in northern England. On the edge of the umbo you can read the name Junius Dubitatus.
