Tourists wishing to see the Baths of Caracalla, will now have the opportunity to see the newly opened remains of the Roman house, which dates back to 134-138 CE.
The object was discovered under the famous baths of Emperor Caracalla, and to this day, beautiful frescoes that decorated the walls of the house have been preserved. The building was partially destroyed and extended.
The house was discovered in the mid-nineteenth century, when Roman ruins were found, 9 meters below the thermal baths. However, the unveiling of the find did not start until one hundred years later, when the researchers saw beautiful frescoes in the dining room and the sacrificial chamber. On the frescoes you can see, among others Bacchus, Jupiter, Juno, Minerva, but also Egyptian deities such as Isis and Anubis.
